Western Shipyard acquired Norwegian company Marine Technology
Western Shipyard, a member of BLRT Grupp, has signed an agreement to acquire a 100% of shares in the Norwegian company for the development and management of engineering projects - Marine Technology AS. "The acquisition of the company with its own technical developments and solutions for the oil and gas and renewable energy sectors will significantly strengthen our positions in these industries, thereby increasing the competitiveness of the entire BLRT Grupp," said Western Shipyard General Director Arnoldas Šileika.

As a result, equipment for transporting of the high-voltage off-shore cables manufactured at Western Shipyard is used worldwide by such world leaders as Aker Solutions, TechnipFMC, NOV, British Petroleum and others. Marine Technology AS, established in 1994, is currently one of the world's leading suppliers of equipment for the transportation of high-voltage off-shore cables. The company offers a wide range of services for concept development, production and implementation of equipment (EPCI), as well as management of engineering projects for oil & gas and renewable energy sectors.
