JSC Western Stevedoring in three specialized (liquid, bulk and general cargo) terminal loading and storing a variety of cargo: biodiesel, wood and wood products, metal products, cocoa beans, agricultural products and non-standard, bulky loads. It also provides all the components of cargo, sorting, packaging and labeling services.
Considering the number of employees (140) we can promptly react to all customers’ needs and requests. From geographical position point of view, JSC Western Stevedoring is situated in a very convenient location – at the outskirts of the city; there, there is a good transport connection. Main roads to the international ferry terminal are nearby, and the railway station Draugystes situated nearby allows saving time, while loading wagons. All loading works are carried out 24 hours a day.
JSC Western Stevedoring, established in 2003, is the only cargo-handling company in Klaipeda port; the company renders cargo-handling services with partial cargo processing in the same place. The fact that the company belongs to SC Western Shipyard group of companies is a great advantage in attracting cargoes. Partial processing (cleaning of metal, priming, cutting) is carried out by JSC Western Metalgama, which is situated nearby, and metal-processing complex of which is the biggest one in the Baltic states. Cargo-handling services with partial processing are very useful for metal exporters, since no additional expenses are necessary to send raw materials for processing to other countries.
During the second half of year 2003, the turnover JSC Western Stevedoring was 120 thousand tons; in 2004, it reached 394,494 thousand tons, and in 2005, amounted to 418 629 tons.
